{Reynolds Family Visits Part 2}

We decided it was too hot and we needed another day of rest so we broke out the bikes, scooters, and swimsuits and had a fun day at home. We also went to the beautiful park I blogged about a couple weeks back and fed the fish and played on the toys. 

Eli kept calling Ben is "brudder." They were sleeping companions for the week and by the end of it Ben had come to the conclusion that he was glad he was the only boy in his house and that he didn't have to share his room. Ha Ha Ha! Eli found a new hiding spot. If anything went missing it was sure to be found stashed away in Ben's suit case. Thanks for putting up with him Ben, he really does adore you.

Next up. Grant's Farm. To give you a little background on this place, it takes it's name from Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President of the United States. Grant founded and farmed part of the 281 acres. It is now owned and funded by Anheuser Busch and is the home of the famous Budweiser Clydesdale's and 900 other animals! And it's free. I now fully support everyone who drinks and provides us with free entertainment.

Joke. But it does have it's perks ;)

Take 2 of bottle feeding the goats. Remember when I posted about Eli getting mauled by a bunch of goats when we tried to bottle feed them? Well, that didn't stop these yahoo's from giving it a go. Eli watched safely from the sidelines in his stroller and wanted nothing to do with those crazy goats.
 

 

The highlights for Grant's farm were the animal shows. We watched Bud the elephant do his thing, he even managed to pull out a few new tricks that we hadn't seen yet. After that we went over to the animal encounter amphitheater to watch a bird show.  There were birds roller skating on toy cars, flying over our heads, doing impersonations, and all sorts of crazy things. The kids were LOVING it.

At the end, a few of the cousins decided to use their spending money to ride the camels. Ben being the sweet brother he is, gave his token to his little sister so she could ride.

 Our final adventure was Six Flags. It was the same price to buy tickets to get into Six Flags for one day as it was to buy a season pass so they went the season pass route and we went three times while they were here. Addy was so excited to take her cousins on all of her favorite rides. Ben was a maniac and rode every single roller coaster in that theme park. I couldn't believe it.

Highlight of this particular day was this picture. Take a close look at Hannah and Addy.

Now let's zoom in a bit shall we? 

Season Pass $52.00. Watching 12 year old Hannah dive in to her 4 year old cousin Addy's lap for comfort. Priceless. I later asked Addy what she was telling Hannah and she said, "I was just holding her really tight and saying it's okay Hannah, it's okay. I got  you." Whew, we all got a good laugh out of that one.

Of course it would be our luck that on the day we chose to go to the swim park the sun was no where in sight and it was raining. Brrrrrrr. We decided we still wanted to go and the little ones were troopers. We put in a good few hours before they were too cold and ready to go. But in those two hours there were zero lines and we were able to ride several slides.

Why they have massive amounts of water dump out in the kiddie are I have no idea. Eli is completely terrified of it and walks around covering his ears as if he is completely safe so long as he can't hear it ;)

The family tube ride Eli also dislikes and apparently a few of his cousins disliked as well, but everyone tried it at least once so that's all that matters :)

My sister and I haven't been on water slides in years, but you can bet we were seen running up long flights of stairs, carrying massive four person tubes, and pausing half way through to wet ourselves on the stairs from laughing so hard. It just might be my new favorite memory with her. Although we may not be friends after she reads this and see's that I revealed what really happened on those stairs ;)

Our last night together we all went to Fritz's and reminisced over frozen custard about the fun vacation we had together.
