{The Santa's}

The day after thanksgiving we were at the mall and Addy spotted Santa. The last two Christmas's she was terrified to sit on his lap, but we decided to give it another go. The line was a little long, but I decided that was a good thing. It gave her lot's of time to sit and observe child, after child, after child go and sit on Santa's lap. By the time we made it to the front of the line she was so excited she could hardly contain herself. She very shyly walked up and gave him a big hug and then proceeded to sit on his lap and tell him all of her hopes and dreams for Christmas ;)
A couple weeks later her preschool went to a different mall to see Santa. She jumped right up on his lap with no hesitation and later told me, "Mommy, I love that Santa. Santa's nice."
A few day's after that we attended our Branch Christmas party. Every year the same Santa visits the kids. He is the sweetest and cutest Santa of all and do you think Addy sat on this Santa's lap? Ha, not a chance. But Eli did ;)
Addy was nervous and crying the whole time we were in line. I couldn't believe it. I came to the conclusion that she must remember this Santa from last year and remembered being afraid. Since then every time we talk about Santa she makes sure to clarify that she LOVES the Santa at the mall and not the Santa at the church. Too funny :)

The theme for the Branch Christmas party was "A Night in Bethlehem." We were told to come dressed up for the occasion so with a little bit of creativity we came up with some costumes. I was a shepherd, Addy was the star, Ryan a wise men, and Eli was the cutest of us all, a box of myrrh :) We had a great time and my primary kids did a great job re-enacting the Nativity. Addy joined in on all the songs and proceeded to slow dance with her "boy" "friend" Nelson. It was the cutest.
