{Christmas Time}

Christmas time is starting to get especially fun around here. Addy is getting to the age where she is starting to understand what it's all about.Not only is she beginning to experience the magic of Santa Claus and all of the fun gifts, but she is starting to understand the true meaning of Christmas as well.

I love this Little People Nativity that Ryan's mom gave us a couple years back. We only pull it out at Christmas time so that it keeps its specialness and the kids don't get tired of it. Addy is always so excited when we pull it out and her and Eli played with it every day. My favorite moments were when I looked over to see this scene



It made her mama proud! Of course, 5 minutes later I turned around to see the exact same scene except for they were all lined up to see the Donkey ;)

We knew we would be heading to Idaho on Christmas Day so we made sure to let Santa know we wouldn't be home and asked him to make a special trip on Saturday for us. We had a white elephant gift exchange and dinner with friends on Christmas Eve and then we headed home to spend the rest of the evening doing our Christmas Eve traditions. The kids opened up their new pajamas and this year their gifts came with a new stuffed animal for them to sleep with. Eli got a doggy who we named Puppers and Addy a pink bear that she named Cupcake (more to come on Cupcake in a later post).

Saturday morning came and we were all very excited to see that Santa had indeed received our letter and visited us one day early. He even left a little note for Addy & Eli. The whole month of December I asked Addy what she wanted Santa to bring her and her reply was always "A scooter." Except for a few days before Christmas she decided to add on to her with list. "I want a scooter and a barbie." I'm glad Santa was able to make her a barbie on such short notice! Eli couldn't tell Santa verbally what he wanted for Christmas, but Santa knew this little boy wanted a car. Every little boy needs a car ;)



Christmas morning I went out to the living room to make sure everything was good to go. As you can tell from the below pictures Addy was not very happy that we made her wait in her room while we checked things out, but Eli was all smiles and was running as fast as his little legs would go down the hall. Once Addy realized that Santa had come she picked up speed and left Eli in the dust, but he just continued to walk speedily grinning ear to ear.



The looks on their faces when they saw their presents was perfect. They were so excited! Addy was quick to hop on her scooter and give it a go, but she was also quick to hop off and give Eli a push in his car. She really is such a good big sister! We had ourselves a very, merry little Christmas.
